Moriyama commissioned me in November 2013 to develop a suite of multilingual websites for PPG Industries, a global supplier of glass, paints and coatings.
My role was producing visual designs according to brand guidelines supplied by the client and building responsive templates (HTML/CSS/jQuery) as part of a wider engagement involving upgrading the Umbraco CMS and developing new website features.
I built templates for key pages and documented common interface elements and patterns in a front-end style guide. Combined page weight across new templates reduced by up to 50% improving load speed and lowering hosting costs.
The project was conducted remotely and lead by PPG’s European Brand Management team based in Barcelona. I attended weekly GoToMeeting conference calls throughout the project to update the client with progress and receive feedback.
